We don't automatically scheme about negligible and petty drama which appears to have no obvious gain. If you have a request, be explicit and provide a clear incentive. BTW, I'm curious how you would respond if your guy asked you to "look hotter this time" because a girl that he wants to impress is going to be at a gathering.
