• Which kind of makes sense. This whole website is about drugs, drinking, and sex out of wedlock. Can't really justify that stuff to Jesus.

  • Any Friday during Lent. Before Vatican II, eating meat was proscribed on *all* Fridays, not just during Lent. Some Catholics, particularly older ones, still follow the "no meat on any Friday" rule for a variety of reasons. (The whole thing is complicated and beyond the scope of a TFLN comment.)
