turns out he wasn't a cop. he smoked with us then left.
though i did freak out when he tried to take a picture of me and said he wasn't going to incriminate me.
lesson learned: get to know strange 47 year old men a bit better before you smoke with them.
As a matter of a fact, yes. Cops can smoke weed with you and then bust you. The authorities can't allow their officers to be addicted to coke and meth and stuff. But since weed is nowhere near as addictive, they can allow them to partake in the action and still bust you, legally.
