    Get a trashcan and a shovel and start scooping. Five gallons of water weighs like 40 pounds so I'm guessing sand weighs close to that. I reckon you will have to make only 5 trips.

    Buy 100 lbs of cement, mix, and make a bench in the corner. Cement is easier to bring down than sand is to bring up. Problem solved.
