  • He meant OPIUM. He wouldn't have said "who does OPIATES anymore" because EVERYONE does them. Do you not know what opium is?

    • I wish more people would give this a thumbs up so that it would be the first listed rather than the presumptuous ones already there.

  • Please quit your job ASAP.....Opiate Withdrawal!

  • Hey jackasses. It probably was opium. Rude fucks.

  • OP, you really need to find a different kind of job. Opiate, not opium. Opiate is a type or class of drugs. Opiates include morphine, hydrocodone and...HEROIN! Did you know that people have heroin withdrawal? Omg, who knew! Dumb ass.

Submitted by randomname on Mar 30, 10 at 9:31am
    • Not OP, but neat. Learn something new every day..

Submitted by skootles on Mar 30, 10 at 1:44pm
    • you can still have opium withdraws though. opium has most of those drugs in it's active ingredients. but someone could be addicted to smoking it. if he had a heroin withdraw, i'm pretty sure he would have stated it. but it's not that important.

Submitted by kkkatiemac on Mar 31, 10 at 9:53pm
      • ...actually opium is the active ingredient in ALL opiates. Hence the name. Heroine is just extremely condensed opium....not the other way around...

        Submitted by Cellohead87 on Apr 1, 10 at 1:18pm
        • oppps! well either way, you can smoke opium, and go through withdraws. smoking opium and heroin are similar but not the same thing.

Submitted by kkkatiemac on Apr 1, 10 at 3:29pm
          • actually you can smoke heroin too. i was an addict for three years, and even though i shot it.. one of my good friends smoked it. and actually almost all opiate withdraws are the same, regardless of if you smoke it, shoot it, or snort it.

  • Lol 9:19: my thoughts exactly. Not to mention they seem a tad judgemental for that job.

    Submitted by photofilly31 on Mar 30, 10 at 4:57pm
  • You ppl here know it IS possible to still get opium, right? The op sounds like they meant to write opium.

    • they should not text things like this either way...Anonymity should be considered....

      Submitted by Rubes_Carnies on Mar 30, 10 at 9:58am
      • oh shut up. 'some guy' is pretty anonymous, and do you really expect that doctors, psychiatrists, and lawyers don't talk about patients and clients to their families? because they definitely do.

Submitted by bananastand on Mar 30, 10 at 12:20pm
      • I'm not sure about health care, but according to legal ethics rules it's OK to talk about a client/case as long as you don't use names or any identifying information.

        Submitted by jonathan171 on Mar 31, 10 at 1:22am
  • You're a fuckin retard. It's opiate withdrawal. Like what you and your douche bag friends are doing when you snort oxycontin?

  • I enjoy smoking opium very much. But I like snorting opiates as well. See what I did there?

Submitted by Anonymous on Mar 31, 10 at 11:44am
  • Opiate, not opium. I'm personally recovering from opiate addiction. It includes drugs like heroin and prescription pills. How do you not know this?

    Submitted by Darth_Taco on Mar 30, 10 at 7:15pm
    • You can also do just straight up opium, and could therefore become addicted to it. How do you not know this?

      Submitted by jonathan171 on Mar 31, 10 at 1:23am
  • Let's forget about the fact that you're probably too retarded to understand the difference between opium and opiates for a second. You texted some patient's health information and that then got posted to tfln. You should be cockslapped, then canned. Douche.

Submitted by AvaDahl on Mar 30, 10 at 6:40pm
    • There is no name or identifying information so it's perfectly OK, at least according to most ethics rules.

      Submitted by jonathan171 on Mar 31, 10 at 1:20am

  • For the record. Opium is a FANTASTIC drug. If someone walked up to me right now and asked me if I wanted some I'd definately buy a gram from them and keep the 2 nickles it's smashed between.

  • I'd like to know who the fuck tries to correct the op on some of these things. There is no need to clear stuff up. 99% of people will still get the gist of most mistakes. OP isn't gonna try and fix it so just stop tryin to correct him

    Submitted by forlorn420 on Jan 7, 12 at 12:51am
  • 4:60. He did not release the patients name so it does not matter. That persons identity still remains anonymous.

    • Can you prove this, and that they did not in fact, mean opium? Just because it's not as popular as other drugs doesn't mean people don't still do it.

  • Lots of people still use opium. I do from time to time, along with hash and salvia. In the town I grew up in, they have programs for people to get off drugs, and opium is one of them, and so is opiates, and they are separate programs.
