  • 8:22, you're right. in 4th grade i was 132 but wasn't allowed in G/T because i have ADD. it's an arbitrary, meaningless program.

  • I wonder if I.Q. scores and standardized tests were graded on a curve or something. I was a smart but average A/B student, 3.5 GPA, mix of College Prep and Honors classes, who used to end up in the 99th percentile in elementary school. I know a lot of other people like that.

  • School kills the desire to learn. I'm so glad I like books and museums and whatnot, otherwise I would have died in class.

  • 6:56, your school had low standards for G/T. You're barely above average.

  • @ 7:31 IQ = particular person of a certain age's intelligence / average intelligence for that age * 100 average IQ for that age = average intelligence for that age / average intelligence for that age * 100 the average IQ for any age is always 100 by definition.

  • Mine in 5th grade was 134, and I'm still so unmotivated (I have a B average) 7:29 you're IQ does change over time, it can go up and down

  • Actually, they do, 7:29, as your scores are evaluated differently. During puberty kids scores drop.

  • I think IQ is just your potential to learn things. Grades and such are affected by so much more--outside stress, partyinnnnnnnnn, and such.

  • I disagree, 9:53. I fully believe in academic segregation because the average and poor students hold back the smart ones by dumbing down class. And then I get blamed for breaking the curve when I don't learn much anyway. If schools want to treat us that way, they should advance students like the old days - college at 16.
