To the idiot who tried to clear up confusion but only caused more: The united states allows states to make laws on their own. Each state will have their own version of laws. In MA the law is 16, no age gap, and no age limit to be with a 16yo.

Yeah, legal age of consent is sixteen here in Canada, but theres a five year gap from 14 untill you hit 18 I think. Like i could have a 20 year old boyfriend and still have sex with him.
only reason age of consent in canada was 14, is because if you are younger than the age of consent, you can't get charged with raping someone, because in the eyes of the law you can't have sex...pretty weird up here if you ask me
