People who've never been to Minnesota don't know what a Minnesota accent sounds like. I've been to Michigan and met some Minnesotans there and they sure did talk funny.
So Minnesota Accents are really not that bad and that is why people from other countries go to the midwest to learn english because they can't understand the rest of the country. Professional newscasters need to have a midwest accent because that is the true American English, not anything else. Minnesotan accents are a slight variation of the true accent.
Fargo is actually in N. Dakota
Nobody actually sounds like the people in the movie Fargo...just saying.
