Why not? If your partner cleans him or herself adequately it's no worse than licking any other part of their body. There are STDs you can catch, notably hepatitis, though.
I did, in fact, know someone about 25 years ago who caught giardiasis--a parasitic infection--via rimming. It was annoying, but curable with an antibiotic. It seems to me that if you're willing to accept the risk that goes with performing cunnilingus without a barrier, then anilingus on a clean anus isn't that big a deal either.
