Because cars need money to run. Plus, people would rather get free rides from friends, instead of paying for their gas and insurance. I know, i'm one of the few with a car.
You can always take a cab, the bus, have the dude drive you to your car or to your friends. Just plain walking works too! None of your hungover friends wanna drive!

Well, 11:29, (assuming these are real text messages), did it ever occur to you that the OP p may actually be asking for a ride away from the situation they are in? I may be wrong, but I would imagine that would be the reason behind the "please come get me" phrases.
The reason pol say "come get me" is obvious.. The guy drove her to his house so she doesn't have her car or she went with a buddy and doesn't want the guy to drive her home to find out where she lives.
