  • pot is safer than advil, less addictive than coffee studies have shown that it slows and even reverses the growth of malignant tumors in the brain and lungs, as well as other parts of the body it reverses the effects of binge drinking by reducing white matter damage in the brain studies show it actually boosts brain cell growth it does not alter your hormone levels the way alcohol does

  • I'm just pleased to know there are other people in 330 that would even understand that statement, let alone discuss it while blazed.

  • Kids smoking pot and talking about science... Or your fat ass sitting online on a Friday waiting for people with more interesting loves than your Futile One to Post?!? Who is tr true loser Now?

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 1:28pm
  • This is totally something I'd do.

  • Actually, dipshits, it does have something to do with dopamine and the OP is totally right. THC binds to CB1 receptors which, through a G-protein coupled cascade, end up inhibiting inhibitory GABA which leads to facilitated firing of dopamine neurons in the nucleus accumbens, along with many other effects. I'm pretty sure there's no conclusive data yet on the cannabinoid effects on serotonin. Just because you smoke weed doesn't mean you know anything about it.

  • Give it up for the ventral tegmenal area bitchzzz!!! Gots to love dem cannabinoids!!

  • People who think "potheads" are losers are the ultimate losers. Judgemental, short-sighted wimps.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 1:39pm
  • THC acutally has it's own recpetors known as "cannabinoid" receptors...these receptors are found within the cerebellum, frontal cortex and the basal ganglia. these receptors are very similar to opiate receptors. i'm not sure if seretonin is released, but i think that the cannabinoid receptor 1 is linked to releasing dopanine...so i believe they're correct when they speak of dopamine...but that's just off the top of my head...

  • Excuse me. Lives. I have an iPhone and couldn't see all my text. I smoke weed and have a grammer fetish. What of it!

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 1:29pm
  • If you were well read on your marijuana facts 2:13 you would know that dopamine is a feel good chemical released in the brain and pot is a feel good substance. Way to be a fucking idiot. Besides that..marijuana is the best after a long hard day.

  • Love all God's creations smoke weed ;)

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 14, 09 at 12:59pm
  • i can't believe only one other person knows it releases seratonin, not dopamine. That's why weed is not physically addicting like most other drugs.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 14, 09 at 1:52am
  • Pot is not addictive. The high feeling can be, though. Pot only causes a bad reaction when the smoker has 'marker genes' for Schitzophrenia anyway. It is possible Ro strenghthen braincells. It's called the sinapses connecting. Duh. And "God" created all plants, right, Christian dude? Go do your research if you're going to argue such a failed argument. At least know the facts.

  • 2:13 should probably hang out with the poster, because dopamine is released by a lot of things. Sex, exercise, drugs, et cetera.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 2:35pm
  • @ 1:29 Mr. Grammer Fetish, it's spelled grammar. Stop smoking pot.

  • Cute story. Scientifically inaccurate though. So it looks like the good times continue.

  • @2:15 If 330 is an area code in Europe, maybe.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 2:23pm
  • Impossible. Dopamine is released by nicotine and there's no nicotine in mary-jane.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 2:13pm
  • Im a huge stoner, and weed affects seratonin not dopamine.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 7:14pm
  • More than one thing can release dopamine... also, it's possible it was mixed with tobacco. Duh.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 2:15pm
  • Im not even gonna say anything about this ridiculous argument, but i will say 330 is the shit! T-County all day baby!

  • This honestly sounds like two college freshman who are learning a few scientific terms in bio 101, and while they like to say them, they are still using them incorrectly. Anyway, nice try.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 2:36pm
  • (330): We discussed how the marijuana was making the dopamine float around our nucleus accumbens last night when we were high. Yet another example of how our science classes are perverting outr good times.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 4:14pm
  • all of you are dumbasses. tetrahydrocannabinal has nothing to do with your dopamine receptors. Dopamine is affected by nicotine, cocaine, and opium. (and all of their derivatives like crack and heroine.) THC attaches to your nerve endings. these science kids are probably going to fail.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 13, 09 at 10:47pm
  • one person up there said it can boost brain cell growth. false. you can't gain more brain cells, you can only kill them. stop trying to make yourself feel better. k.
