  • You can't transmit a uti like a sexually transmitted disease. However the process of intercourse can force bacteria from the vagina or even rectum (you font have to have anal intercourse for bacterial exchange) which causes a uti. This is why some women get a uti after sex. In some cases it gets bad enough that we need to give antiobiotix prophylaxis for patients to take after intercourse.

  • Many things, like gonorrhea, can cause UTIs. They can be spread sexually. So yes, you can spread a UTI through sex. Wait till it clears up, then bang away--safely, of course.

  • @2:26, they can be called either STIs or STDs. and i HAVE taken a health class, so don't use that one on me too. just thought i'd clear it up.

  • The sup Bristol makes it

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 12, 09 at 11:35am
  • Yes you can transmit it to a sexual partner. Those idiots saying an infection can't be transmitted are retarded and will hopefully die from an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection, what they call STDs now). Go to a local Planned Parenthood. They have information regarding STIs and other information regarding sex.

  • you cant contract a UTI... sadly i get them more often than i would like. they are normally caused buy having sex, because when you have sex it causes microscopic cuts on the vaginal wall and they get infected by the bacteria the penis gets in there.

  • Really, 9:48? Because I've had UTI's on many an occasion (including currently), and my fiance has never had one in his life. We had sex a couple times while my symptoms weren't so bad. (There is actually medication you can get to relieve the pain and pressure of a UTI. Not the same as the one that cures it).

  • very rare for men to get uti'S, the bacteria has to travel all the way up the penis, which is difficult. and 10:35, STD's are actually STI's...meaning sexually transmitted infection. take a health class.

  • Sex can move bacteria into your urethra, which can result in a UTI. Lots of other things can cause them too though. If you're wondering can you give it to you partner if you have sex while you have one, no - but it's not a good idea to, it can make your UTI worse.

  • Everyone who said yes is an idiot. You CANNOT transmit a UTI. 1) It's simple anatomy. The infection is in the URINARY TRACT. If you need someone to explain why you can't transmit an infection from one urinary tract to the other during sex. . .then you shouldn't be having sex. Sex can just make the infection worse. But really? What do I know? I'm just a nurse.

  • I have never hear or read of a UTI being transferred through sex. But you really shoudn't have sex when you have one--it can make it wore and and it can INCREDIBLY painful, trust me, I've tried it. It's very hard to transfer, though.

  • Anyone saying you can't get a UTI from sex is going on facts and not experience. I get a UTI almost everytime I have sex, what else would it be from?

  • Yes, you can get a UTI from sex. My best friend got a yeast infection from a slut he banged once. Best part is that he was from Houston, same as the person who sent this text. Apparently, Houston sucks so much the only fun thing to do is spread diseases around town.

  • You can get a UTI from sex, but it's from bacteria entering your urinary tract, not from your partner having at UTI. "Sup Bristol" is a sarcastic reference to the "success" of abstinence-only sex education. Hope that clears things up for the dumbasses who frequent this site.

  • @ 4:28 You're thinking of a yeast infection; a UTI is located in the urethra, not the vagina.
