  • if there was a different school in the text, this would be funny. but this doesn't fit sarah lawrence alumni AT ALL.

  • sound like 2:16 is one of the Sarah Lawrence lesbos

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 3:09pm
  • As someone who went to Sarah Lawrence, I can pretty much guarantee that most people there have little to no interest in substitute teaching.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 1:51pm
  • I like them both - but it's a good point, Thirteen's character does all sorts of crazy unnecessary things, including using her bisexuality solely for male titillation. The writers for Cameron were much better.

  • Thirteen from House went to Sarah Lawrence!

  • I graduated from Truman State, another liberal arts college, in Missouri. I had never heard of Sarah Lawrence before, granted it is not even near my region. But I entered and graduated from TSU on academic scholarships and, much like 80% of my friends, have not yet found a job and was forced to continue higher education. Grad school sucks. Don't do it.

  • what does any of that have to do with substitute teaching 211?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 2:22pm
  • Irrational male hostility = jealousy

  • If you were trying to make a Mrs. degree joke, OP, you picked the wrong college.

  • And I've known a lot of smart people who went to state schools because they couldn't get enough in scholarships and financial aid. It's not always about the school, but the amount of work someone puts into their education. Unfortunately, I have to side with 6:54 that anyone attacking a Sarah Lawrence student for his or her choice in universities probably doesn't care about learning.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 7:26pm
  • My degree from Earlham was the result of working three jobs during the summer, two during the school year, various local scholarships, and financial aid. Overpriced but well worth it to avoid the binge drinking, date rapes, and Greek takeover of a state university.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 2, 09 at 6:54pm
  • Any Sarah Lawrence student probably has more brains than ALL the coeds at UT Austin. Those are some really stupid bitches!!

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 7:17pm
  • Don't talk shit on Cameron, I would take her over 13 any day.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 1:22pm
  • lol slc is barely riding on the prestige. have fun trying to get a job with that incredibly useful liberal arts degree. if you aren't saddled with a mountain of debt then clearly you won't need the job thanks to mommy and daddy and if you are why the fuck didn't you go to state school

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 5:50pm
  • I think it's so funny that there are so many lesbian jokes on here. I am a straight girl and my straight boyfriend goes to Sarah Lawrence, and we met here. I know plenty of other straight boys here (granted, most of them are snatched up immediately, but they exist).

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 8:56pm
  • 6:13, what is wrong with state school? Not all of us are fortunate enough to have parents pay for our education or co-sign student loans. Please stop being a judgmental stuck-up bitch.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:44pm
  • Have you been to Sarah Lawrence, or do you just know one chick who graduated, married, had kids too soon and became a substitute teacher?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 12:57pm
  • Sweet Briar is the best colleges with one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States, not to mention one of the most well-known women's colleges in the United States. Sbc beats slu any day.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 3:08pm
  • 6:13 is 1) male and 2) was awarded merit scholarships. I don't make excuses. I work harder. Don't assume that all liberal arts students coast on their parents' fortunes, you stuck up bitch, 6:44.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 7:30pm
  • And why does being a lesbian matter at all?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 3:43pm
  • Sorry, I'm keyboard dyslexic. I'm 6:31.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 7:42pm
  • our valedictorian went to a state school. you can find all sorts of students everywhere, although state schools WILL have more people who only go on to college because it's the expected thing to do. sarah lawrence is a really good school. who cares what got you in, you'll still have to work your ass off. fin.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 7:58pm
  • 2:11, are you aware that Sarah Lawrence has been co-ed since the late 60'? Please, take your misdirected sexual frustration elsewhere.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 2:16pm
  • no that makes you ignorant 5:18. as some else pointed out, it's coed. and it has a difficult curriculum, being a private school and all. it was frequently judged as one of the top 40 colleges by us news and world report.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 5:36pm
  • yeah key phrase there is "I think." you might be attempting to think that but sadly you are wrong most places have never even heard of Sarah Lawrence and will think you said Saint Lawrence instead.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:14pm
  • And what does being a lesbian have to do with substitute teaching?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 3:38pm
  • I'm 6:14 and an alumna who went to sarah lawrence on scholarships trust me I have seen more than enough trust fund kids who don't do any work or give a crap about academics slc students are no more employable than any state school students

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 11:54pm
  • Actually I go to Sarah Lawrence, and I'm fucking him right now. Where'd he learn all the leather stuff?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 9:17pm
  • I'm a guy, and in school the girls had higher grades since elementary school and were the majority in my college courses. I don't think it's a gender thing - it's an intellectual inferiority thing, 6:37.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:42pm
  • Does Sarah have a nice rack? Are there pictures anywhere?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:20pm
  • Sarah Lawrence wishes it was williamsburg brklyn. Cuz its trendy to pay tons of money to look like we shop at salvation army.

  • Teachers do the best work anyone could do. They get paid crap. In California it's ridiculously difficult to get a job. And if you are lucky enough to get one the president or governor makes more cuts and you get a pink slip. If you want the country to progress and be intelligent then why not invest in education. And by the way private schools are horrible.., those teachers do nit even need a degree let alone a credential

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 3, 09 at 9:18am
  • Really, ALL liberal arts degree's are useless? Someone is an idiot. You want useless, try a fine arts degree. And yes I have one, and yes, I'm going back to school for something a little more employable. I also paid my own way, and had scholarships.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 2, 09 at 10:02am
  • If you were trying to make an MRS degree joke. Epic fail.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 11:55pm
  • yeah, thirteen went to sarah lawrence and of course had a lesbian cheerleader roommate. god i don't know why house's writers have fucked up so badly on her character. she's too pretty to be taken seriously, unlike the homely girl who was on before.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 1:09pm
  • No clue on employability so i won't say anything concretely, but I have heard and subscribe to this: SLC is amazing for undergrad, for those who plan to go further, then they can go for a "more prestigious" name in a grad school program (though i'm from California and knew it well). A bachelor's doesn't really make you a high candidate anywhere anymore, so grad school is pretty likely for most these days anyway.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 25, 09 at 8:43am
  • actually i think most people don't understand what liberal arts colleges actually do.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:44pm
  • dude 5:49 wait till you are in the job market what kind of job you think you are gonna get with that piece of paper

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 5:54pm
  • If this is what happens when you graduate from a rigorously academic liberal arts college, what happens to Rohypnol State University students?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 4:51pm
  • So all u people thinking your so smart and priveleged to put your child in private school, you are actually sacraficing their education...but don't their uniforms look nice?

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 2:11pm
  • All I know about Sarah Lawrence is that it's a chick school. That makes it funny.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 5:18pm
  • I totally thought you only got one type of degree from liberal arts school 644.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:48pm
  • I was thinking that you'd be getting a degree in sucking dick

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 2:03pm
  • My cousin goes to Smith, I visited the campus.Beautiful college. I go to a state school, but it is because of tuition fees and it is the best college in my state for a degree in teaching, and I want to be certified in teaching around where I live. Not all state schools suck.

  • YOUR DEGREE FROM AN OVERPRICED LIBERAL ARTS SCHOOL DOES NOT REALLY MATTER THAT MUCH repeat until straight

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:21pm
  • You only tear down liberal arts colleges because you lacked the academic self-discipline to study books and only learned what ratio of beer to Red Bull lets you stay awake during lectures. College of Wooster represent!

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 6:37pm
  • Haha. I am sitting in my dorm room at Sarah Lawrence and laughing because if all I am after 4 years and $200,000 is a substitute teacher, I might kill myself. This is so far from the truth, sorry.

Submitted by Anonymous on Oct 1, 09 at 5:49pm
  • So many stereotypes in this thread... Love that people hate good schools and liberal arts... Being well-educated is so disgusting... ;) Some people are smart enough to have their private schools paid for in scholarships. And you all should really look up what a liberal arts schools is... and why many of their graduates are far more employable.

  • 6:08 are you kidding SLC doesn't help with jobs at all if you are lucky enough to get a paid internship it won't be through them the majority of recent graduates are out of work. go talk to most of the students at slc and see how many would actually live up to the phrase "academic scholarship" (hint it will be a handful at best)
