You obviously missed Katrina.
Well shotguns tend to discourage looters and they're just always a good thing to have around
Never ask why when shotguns are involved, just pass the ammunition.
Well, if you're stranded long enough to run out of food the shotguns will come in handy to pop some birds. Or hold up a food truck, whichever works.

See this is where people forget... You want swords, axes, etc for zombies. Zombies won't wait for you to reload, and point a shotgun at one won't slow them down one bit.
It will when you put a 3.5 inch magnum shell in them.
