Omaha isn't even really Nebraska, after all, you guys gave an electoral vote to Obama and no true Nebraskan votes Democrat... Go get annexed by Iowa and get out of this amazing state.

Lincoln doesn't have, well, like ANYTHING to do. All the bands go to Omaha, good excuse for a road trip. BUT - Lincoln is safe. I have a four-year-old and I'm not worried about when he goes to high school. :p

Eastern and western Nebraska are totally different. Western Nebraska is definitely more small town hick. When I was in high school the kids used to drive tractors to school for the hell of it some days and we all held our graduation receptions in our parents barns.
i have lived in lincoln, bellevue and omaha and had SO much fun in all of them (omaha was the best)- have lived in missouri, florida, arkansas, texas and virginia and .. even tho nebraska wasn't the best out of those places- it wasnt the worse by far. i love nebraska.... and i LOVE WEARING RED EVERY SINGLE GAME DAY!!!! GO HUSKERS!!!!
I've been all over. And I love Omaha. It's big sitting living with a small town feeling.
As for the rest of Nebraska, anyone who likes nature can find the beauty in the rolling hills, open blue sky, forests, puffy thunderhead clouds, and endless fields of greenery blowing in the wind.
Oh and I've never played hide and seek in a corn field, but I have played flash light tag in the middle of no where. And swam in creeks. And got drunk sitting in the Missouri river. Sandbar parties are always a blast.
thats actually a job...i work at abercrombie and we have a plant lady who cleans the trees...its legit...and i have worked at it in numerous states...so not that special

Just for the record. I live in a small town with about 300... I have never played hide and go seek in a cornfield.. whoever has seriously has to much time on their hands. Oh.. us people who live west of Omaha and Lincoln... aren't hicks. Just saying.. and we don't drive our tractors to school.. or our cows..
Really the only thing to do in Omaha is party.
The zoo is only great the first 1,000 times you go.
And Omaha is the only place I know where an actual cop said that if its too cold out in the winter and they see you smoking/dealing/speeding/anything illegal, they would rather stay warm in their cars then get out and confront you.

Omaha and Lincoln are decent cities--nothing spectacular save for restaurants and music.
But west Nebraska is great if you want to do things outdoors. No mountains, but badlands, lakes, forests, rivers and waterfalls to your heart's content. As for creek swimming and playing in cornfields, I don't know anyone that's done that.

oh nebraska does suck as much as everyone says it does.

just so everyone knows those trees in the mall are not fake! they are actual palm trees. lol i asked one morning as i saw a guy water them.. "uh why the fuck are you watering fake trees" and much to my surprise they are real

But we have fun. Omaha and Lincoln people don't know anything about us people west of them.. just sayin
