Just as an afterthought to those questioning the capital "S"... I always use proper spelling, capitalization, and punctuation in my texts (to the best of my ability, of course). It is entirely possible that someone legitimately wrote this - human, or manatee. :)
I wouldn't say the plot is "centered" around that, but yeah, you learn in the first tome that Jean Valjean is an ex-prisoner that got into jail because he stole bread to feed his family. Man, that book is so sweet <3
@ 5:42 they may have an iPhone and the capitalize button is near the 's' button. And also it takes what like a fraction of a second to capitalize something.
