  • I had my first beer when I was 5 (though I was living in Germany at the time). It was only ok so I didn't ask to try beer again till I was in my early teens. Then I could have one beer or wine glass a night if I wanted, though I rarely did. Didn't get drunk till I was 18 (oh college). Now I'm 21, and I'm probably the most responsible drunk of my friends. I have never blacked out, been arrested, and maintain a 3.9 GPA.\n\nSo don't assume this mother is a horrible parent.

  • that's so not bad parenting. i have pictures of my 1st birthday of me & my cousin of the same age drinking mini coronas. i dont think we got brain damage since were both sophomores in college now

  • Wine coolers? Live in the South?\n\n Folks, time i travel outside US. In Europe they sometimes put water in a little glass with wine and allow kids to sip. Trust me... Lol!! And I have an excellent tolerance level tyvm!!! And not an alcoholic.

  • My parents let me have wine coolers at 16... With the condition I maintained my 3.8 GPA. And I was told I tried a beer at age 5 and tried to sneak off with the can at a family function... But I think 8 is WAY too young. :-/
