  • Actually i believe the liver is the only organ that regrows

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 17, 10 at 12:44am
  • It does regrow, but only if you give it time to regrow, aka don't binge drink for two months.

Submitted by imafrayedknot on Jan 16, 10 at 2:48pm
  • I was a live liver donor. They took half of my liver and it regrew within three months. Only organ in the body that regenerates. Duh.

  • A healthy liver is perfectly capable of regrowing up to half if need be, though this ability may be compensated by alcohol abuse or cancers. The functioning cells that make up liver tissue are pleuripotent stem cells meaning that they can be reproduced and change to assume the required role.

  • Technically true in cases of healthy livers. Alcohol especially damages the liver so that's how people end up with fatty livers and cirrosis...once you damage it, of course it doesn't grow back.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 17, 10 at 12:56am
  • your liver can grow back up to 80% of itself.

  • Not true at all.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 16, 10 at 2:27pm
  • Haha duh, how else would people be able to donate half their liver in liver transplants...?

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 17, 10 at 1:23am
  • Before people call each other a dumbass make sure u know what u are talking about it is sad to see people make fools of them selves. 236 cancers effect a lot of stuff so a diesce of the liver it is safe to assume that the cells there would in fact be bathleing that instead of rebuilding jackass

    • It's sad to see you calling people dumb asses and commenting on how sad it is to see people make fools of themselves when you can't spell battling.

    Submitted by RoseF32 on Jan 17, 10 at 4:23pm
  • Stupidest thing I've heard. If u think that's true how do u explain liver cancer and cirrhosis? Dumbass

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 16, 10 at 2:36pm
  • And 12:56 thats when you need a liver transplat. And its not half your liver, its more like 1/8 to 1/10 depending on how bad the liver is damaged.

Submitted by Anonymous on Jan 17, 10 at 4:40am
