i don't understand all the posters who make it seem like going to class and partying are mutually exclusive. i party nearly every thursday, friday, and saturday (and a lot of mondays in there too) and i usually never have problems getting to classes (except my friday 8 am, but that's another story.) a typical undergrad can party his ass off while still making it to class, unless you're getting wasted TTH 930.
actually those are the ppl that barely have to study and dont need to go to class in order to get better grades than you do. they wont be serving you fries, you will be calling them boss
I never go to class. And somehow I have a 3.4
GPA. I have 21 hours left until I graduate ON TIME. It's crazy? I'm pretty sure I won't be serving you your fucking fries. I'm pretty sure I'm going to grad school in the fall. So actually the reality is, is that I just had a blast in colllege and you have no life.

11:18, my intentions were not jerkassery. Grad school is quite a bit more work than undergrad. To clarify, you said you NEVER go to class, not that you never go to unimportant, easily learned classes, there is a difference. I can relate to having a relatively difficult undergrad degree. Finally, yes, some people are smarter than others, no disagreement there.

That's from northern or eastern Connecticut, not southwestern (203). Very likely from UConn, I had a finals experience like that this morning, in a class of maybe 25, there were 5 people there I hadn't seen all semester.

I spent my college career skipping class to drink, smoke, and pound sorority bitches. I ended up with average grades and used any smarts I had to calculate how little I had to do to actually pass each class. Ended with a 2.8.
Now I'm an accountant working alongside, and making as much as, people like the OP who worked their asses off and had no fun to get a 4.0. I win, ya'll lose.
All about that piece of paper so I did as much as I had to to attain it and no more.

hilarious. 1. it wasn't a lecture class, 2. the tests were based on information given in class which was not in the book. in fact the book wasn't even used. 3. i make $50K a year already and am taking 2-3 classes a semester just to pass time. 4. the final is only worth 20% of the grade. None of them ever turned in any hw through the course of the class which leaves them with a maximum grade of...F!

Pride of UConn. I also had an exam today where it was hard to find a seat because the hall was usually at half the capacity it was today. Of course, I skipped about a dozen classes myself, but some of these guys and girls hadn't been there since the second class.
If the class is required, but attendance isn't, there's a choice to make. Get up for an 8am lecture, listen to a TA drone on for two hours in a crowded lecture hall, or study on your own at your own pace.
I chose the latter, and both my grades and my sanity benefited.
