  • 4:45-- Clearly you've never woken up in a jail cell. Trust me, after a certain point even beer has diminishing marginal utility.

  • 423 - i think it has been proven that beer..and getting head are the only things on this earth that defy the whole case of diminishing marginal utility

  • This is most def a UT 1st year MBA. 8 am Econ blows

  • Opportunity cost should read marginal cost. Good luck on your final!

  • This text makes the 4 hours I actually did spend in macro class makes it all worthwhile. And I'm an Econ major (please, hold the laughter. I know).

  • 626 - sure have. use the paddy wagon as my personal taxi. no dui, no hotel costs, no cab costs. win-win-win!

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 8:27pm
  • 6:25 is correct. It's not opportunity cost in this context. It's that the cost or "pain" of going is not worth paying for the assumed marginal benefit of what he'll learn. So obviously the OP and all of you who unquestionably salivated At the attempted humor need Econ for Dummies.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 25, 09 at 12:43am
  • 1243 i think most people understood the meaning and context. 1. OP prob still drunk. 2. its douchey to get technical when everyone else understood the context. we get it. its cost.OPs prob failing!

  • if this is todd, i hope you seriously choke.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 4:26pm
  • Excellently put. However, the Long Run average cost of missing class > the marginal benefit of skipping this is all under the assumption you are a shitty student. Did you get laid the night before? in which case SR marginal benefit of getting laid > SR benefit of class

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 25, 09 at 3:07am
  • "Cost" is more accurate than "opportunity cost" in this context because he is not emphasizing any opportunity he's missing by going to class so much as he's emphasizing how brutal it would be to drag his ass out of class.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 6:25pm
  • Haha as an econ major and a senior I love it!!!

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 25, 09 at 12:46am
  • his opportunity cost is a decling in gross productivity. Unless he is staying home to do homework.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 6:57pm
  • I support this as a college student and an econ major.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 5:50pm
  • 4:24, I happened to do the same

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 6:51pm
  • This could be right. What's he giving up by going to class? Rest and recovery. Maybe even morning sex. If that's his opportunity cost I'd agree it's greater than the marginal benefit of misery sitting through a 1.5 hr lecture.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 30, 09 at 9:02pm
  • I majored in Econ. Good shit!

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 24, 09 at 11:19pm
  • Dude, I got my entire econ degree operating on this principle. And it wasn't even alcoholism, just laziness.

Submitted by Anonymous on Nov 27, 09 at 1:10am
  • Welp. You missed an exam. All UT Econ classes had exams this half week, douche bag.
